The Alexander Technique

What do I teach?
I help people learn how to naturally and skilfully move, sit and stand in harmony with the way our bodies are designed.

Why learn it?
If you don't move in harmony with the way your body is designed, in time you will almost inevitably suffer painful or dysfunctional symptoms - such as back, neck or joint pains, shallow breathing, poor posture, discomfort when sitting, restricted movement etc.

And... as your mind and body are just different aspects of yourself  - depending on your particular form of mis-use, that means your confidence could be affected, you are more reactive or you are more readily overwhelmed by stressful situations.

Can anyone learn it?
Truthfully, the answer is no.
Yet don't jump to the conclusion that you are one of those who couldn't!
The main pre-requisite is that you want to learn it and that you have some motivation for change - most often this is a desire to allieviate pain of some kind but it doesn't need to be - it could be a desire to improve a skill - giving a talk, your singing, playing an instrument, riding your horse or even gardening. It could also be a desire to move and stand with more confidence or simply to be able to sit at your computer with more awareness and ease.
